Kevin Randolph's art often resonates with the translucent quality of layered colors. Overlapping veils of color seem to float beneath the surface of his collage prints. In his linoleum-cut prints, a dark ground imparts a depth to his surface colors. He achieves a similar effect by sometimes using colored paper for his color pencil or pastel drawings.

Randolph's forms are abstract, and often suggestive of the elements of nature. One can sense the images of plant life, fish and birds through his forms.

Randolph was born and raised in New York and moved to live with his father in California in 1987 at the age of 21. He joined NIAD that year. Kaiser Permanente and other Bay Area collectors have purchased his work, and his art has been shown in exhibits in California, Ohio, China and Canada.

Randolph's work was recently on display at the Arts Benicia Gallery 2005 exhibit entitled, "Compelled to Create."
