Read KQED's Review of NIAD's Call & Response Exhibit

Timothy Buckwalter has composed a very nice review of NIAD's current exhibit Call & Response, on the Arts & Culture portion of the KQED website. Quote: "You know what call and response is, right? If you've ever been to church or attended a rally, you do. Or if you've listened to music -- like James Brown's "Soul Power" -- you know what I'm talking about. Yep, its when one person poses a question or makes a statement and the like-minded group offers a reply."

NIAD's First Ever Fashion Show

NIAD is proud to present its first ever Fashion Show, taking place on Thursday, June 26, at 6:00pm. NIAD artists have always filled our gift store with fashionable items and accessories, such as clothing, bags, and jewelry, but have never shown them off on the runway until now. For months our artists have been buzzing about the event as they design and embellish one-of-a-kind t-shirts, hats, jeans, skirts, and shoes. Strutting down the catwalk with them will be a few special guests, while emcee Eleanor Boswell-Raine, associate publisher and managing editor of the Globe Newspaper, introduces the models and describes their unique wares.
Please join NIAD for this exciting event. Entrance to the show is free. Following the show we'll celebrate with a reception that includes refreshments and goodies provided by Galaxy Desserts, in Richmond, CA. During that time you'll also have the opportunity to purchase any items that may have caught your eye.
